The best way to get around in Vienna is by public transport. If you come by car, best is to leave it outside of the city in a park & ride.
To find your route quickly, you may find it convenient to download the WienMobil app:

Getting from the airport to the city

You can use the City Airport Train (CAT), which takes 16 minutes to the city and goes every 30 minutes (14.90€ single ticket/ 24.90€ return ticket).
However, if you are not in a particular hurry, the regular city train (S-Bahn S7) is much cheaper and only takes 10 minutes longer. Note that you need to purchase a ticket for two transport zones. Another option is to take a bus with Vienna Airport lines.
